Chrysler Repair: 96 Sebring(2.5L V-6), Hard Start.... Solution!, crank sensor, emissions systems

Question
Hello Roland!
I just wanted to close out all our threads and let you know that you were a great help and right on the money with my problems.

The crank sensor was all over the place with high/low transitions- certainly not the 3 groups of 4 you had indicated.
I replaced the crank sensor that the original repair shop installed and the car runs better than new! My wife was even able to get a refund from the repair shop- they were very good about it.

One interesting note on the OBD codes:
As you know, I was clearing the computer codes several times a day debugging the problem. We took the car to be inspected and (in Texas) they look at the emissions systems (in the OBD-II) to be "Ready", which I understand is the computer getting a history of "good" values from the EGR, O2, etc. So now we have to drive the car around to get these OBD-II settings to go from "Not Ready" to "Ready" in order to pass inspection.
Until we chat again,
Thanks Roland, you have been a great help!!

Answer
Hi Steve,
Thanks to you too for so deligently pursuing this sensor problem to the finish. Without your attention to detail I doubt it would have been easily found until it got worse. What you learned will now be available to others who might have a similar problem with their engine.
