Chrysler Repair: New Yorker 1990 Driver door panel removal, gear teeth, xerox copy

Question
How do I remove the Driver's door panel on a 1990 New Yorker so I can see what's wrong with the window, it won't roll up.  I can hear the motor turning.

Answer
Hi Dan,
I assume that your car is a C-body, which means the 5th space of the VIN would be a "C". Also that my '89 manual also describes the '90 model.
Remove the speaker grill (4 clips)
Remove power seat switch wiring
Remove courtesy lamp lens
Remove 2 arm rest screws and single trim panel attaching screw forward of speaker, i.e. one screw forward of speaker, 2 screws in lower panel behind carpet
Remove switch bezel (5 clips), disconnect power window and door lock wiring
Remove trim panel (2 clips), disconnect courtesy lamp wiring
That should do it.
Depending upon the drive type there are instructions for making repairs of the mechanism. See if yours is a conventional (sector with gear teeth) or flex drive there is an instruction for replacing parts. So let me know if you want a xerox copy of which ever type you are dealing with and I will postal mail it to you.
