Chrysler Repair: 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan, dodge grand caravan, windshield wipers

Hi,...we hope you can help us.
We have a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan. A few weeks ago, we started having stuff go wrong with our instruments.  The first thing to go was all of the gauges.  The speedometer, tachometer, odometer, gas gauge...everything.  The lights would flicker...on the dash panel and even the radio lights etc...we found that if we turned the windshield wipers on, the gauges would all come on.  The link that we have found between all of this is the ABS light.  It stays on ALL of the time...When the windshield wipers were turned on, the ABS light would go out and all the gauges would work.  This would happen a few times, and then finally the windshield wipers wouldn't trigger anything and now nothing happens.  The ABS light is still on...the only thing that doesn't work are the gauges.  I have lights, wipers, air, radio...we tried a new instrument panel but that wasn't the problem.  We have checked the fuses in both panels.  Those were okay.  Our mechanic thinks that it is the body control module.  This is $600 non refundable.  Any suggestions? Please help.

did they try reseting the compuiter by takeing off the neg cable on the battery for 5 min than hook it back up.
if that does not wirk bring to a shop where they can reprogam the compuiter .
your compuiter as lost mem
