Chrysler Repair: 1998 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convert no bus, chrysler sebring, dashboard lights

Question
Went to start the car and very dim dashboard lights came on and "no bus" on the odometer.  Also the hazard flashing lights were flashing, very dimly and slowly.  All gauges were out also.  I noticed the fan on the Heat/AC would only work on high.

Spoke to a friend about the problem and he suggested hitting the top of the dashboard the next time I started it.  It worked, all gauges and light work.

No sign of water leakage, did get colder today and haven't started the car in 2 days.

Any suggestions???

Answer
Another hero biscuit for the design engineers. The problem is at the main cluster plug. The plug has alloy pins which contact copper strips. The only permanent solution is to remove the dash cluster and with very fine sandpaper, clean the contacts of the plug and socket.
