Question1966 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible, original 390cu, 750 double pump Holley carb., edelbrock manifold, hooker headers, dual fan aluminum radiator, C-6 transmission, Flowmaster Dual Exhaust, Mustang II front end with rack and pinion steering and disc brake updates.
When I start this car after sitting up for a day or longer, I notice some gray to blue exhaust only coming out of the right exhaust pipe, probably 2-4 seconds worth. No smoke out of left exhaust pipe noticed. Occurs at start up, does not smoke during normal driving around town but will put out some blue-gray smoke if I really get on the gas pedal to try and spin the tires at a local car show.
Motor was re-built about 5-years ago. I bought this from a man who had it set up to drag the 1/4 mile. I use it as a weekend cruiser/fun. Do not plan to 1/4 drag it, but sure do like to spin the tires!!
Anything serious?? Do not notice anything else wrong, no missing, no sputtering, etc... Runs like a scalded dog!! What do you think?? Your information and time is greatly appreciated.

AnswerSounds like you might have a little oil running down a valve stem. I would not worry about it until it starts to show up after deceleration as well. It does not sound like head gasket as the color is wrong, as head gasket would be white steam. Run it and enjoy.
