Classic/Antique Car Repair: F150 rear fender removal, rear fender, salvage yard

Question
QUESTION: ok so my 1999 f150 got dented pretty badly on the rear passanger fender and i figure it'd just be easier to remove it and order a new fender..except i can't figure out how to remove it..i can see a few bolts holding it on but i dont know where they all are..any help as to the bolt locations would be great!

ANSWER: Are you talking about a cosmetic flare or the actual welded in place quarter panel of your bed? There is no 'rear passenger fender'

QUESTION: The quarter panel..and now that i know it is welded on it's going to make my job a little more difficult..what would be the best way to approach the removal of this piece in your opinion?

Answer
Find your final outcome before you start. See if you are getting a quarter panel from the dealer, a used one from a salvage yard, or you can find a whole used truck bed for about 1/3 the price of either other choice.

Once you know where you are ending up, you will know how to proceed. It has been my experience that you will be able to find a whole truck bed easier than anything, and they DO just bolt off and back on very easily.

If you do this just get under the truck and look at the contact points on the frame. There will large bolts going through then, usually 8-12. Remember your gas filler hose and taillight wiring.
