Classic/Antique Car Repair: 71 Pontiac LaMans Starter, pontiac lamans, cold motor

I have a71 Pontiac LaMans Sport. It runs great, but after about 45 minutes of
driving, if I turn the car off it will not turn over (nothing). I have to let the car
cool down. then it will start

I wonder if your starter could be bad- some times when the fields are bad the cold motor will start but when its hot and you shut it down it will not start till the starter is cool.also check all battery connections and grounds,also starter wires ok
