Dodge Repair: power steering squeal Durango

Question
200 dodge durango 4.7 slt,  about two months ago i replaced the power steering pressure line.in the past two weeks when i first start it in the morning i get a strange squeal when it starts and my power steering is very hard to turn...once it warms up its fine. in the last few days it doesn't want to stay running when i first start it and my power steering is REALLY hard to turn. i tried bleeding the air out again and it seems fine.....not sure what to do......just moved across the country and cant afford to take to a mechanic yet....please help

Answer
Hi Russell,
I wonder whether, because of the 'strange squeal', the engine drive belt might be oil soaked  and slipping due to the previous pressure line failure. The other possibility is that the power steering pump is binding up.
You might try releasing the tension on the drive belt by rotating the tensioner and holding it in the relaxed position. Then inspect the belt for oil absorbed on the surface. Try turning the power steering pump by hand to see if it is binding up. Then release the tensioner.
Your exact year model is unclear to me so if you do a follow-up question please clarify that.
Please read the PS (below) and respond to it.
Thanks for doing that,
Roland
