Dodge Repair: Dodge Shadow, dodge shadow, auto parts store

Question
I have a 1984 Dodge Shadow and it needs the drives side front axle replaced and was wondering if it something I can do myself. Is it very complicated? Do you need any special tools, such as metric?  Also I need to replace the blinker/cruise control arm. Do you need something special to take the steering wheel off and do I have to in order to replace this?  I am kind of just starting to get into vehicle repair and want to try to do as much of the work as I can. go to the auto parts store and by a book made buy haynes this will give u step by step repairs on the car and then u will learn . it is the best teacher . i could explain to u how to do this but with the book it will be there all the time for u and it is only 12 dollors and if they domt have it they can order it in one day pete and good luck pete
