Nissan Repair: Electrical, nissan 300zx, windshield wiper

I recently brought a new battery for my nissan 300zx 1986, before I started it, it was sitting for a few months. The car started up almost immediately, however the electrical is malfunctioning. The headlights are working, however everythings else, dealing with the electrical is not working, including the panel lights, tailights, hazards windshield wiper, and speedometer. What is causing this problem and what are possible solutions?

Be sure to check the positive battery terminal for fuses and fuse links as well as the box under the hood.  It appears that when the battery drained, the old one, the car blew some fuses or fuse links.  Fuse links are short lengths of wire that will melt in two when overheated.  As in, when the battery gets really low.
