Eagle Repair: hesitating, mass airflow sensor, banjo fittings

Question
howdy.  I have a 95 Summit, 1.5 litre, 4G15 engine.  While driving, it seems to sputter or hesitate, only when in full throttle.  This seems to happen more than not, but not all the time.  It also only occurs when the clutch is fully out.  I heard that it could be the fuel filter, among other things.  I have searched high and low for a manual or a diagram to help me locate the filter, and/or other parts on the engine, to no avail.  I have absolutely no idea about things when it comes to engines.  I can fill the car with gas and oil.  Thats the extent of my knowledge on cars.  Please help!

Answer
The fuel filter is located on the right hand side of the firewall.  It is a cylinder like component with a line attatching to the top and a second attaching to the bottom.
It will have 4 brass washers, two banjo bolts and probably two rubber hoses with banjo fittings on them where they attatch to the filter itself.

It is a possibility that fuel volume is dropping at a wide open throttle condition but there are several other things that can cause a mis-fire condition.  These include but are not limited to: Plugs, wires, fuel pump, mass airflow sensor, piping from mass airflow sensor to throttle body, throttle body sensors, and various other sensors tied in with the measuring of air and calculation of air to fuel ratio.

If your experience is as limited as you say then I would not recomend diving in to a driveability problem right off as a means of learning how to work on your car.  It can be expensive and sometimes compound the issue if things aren't done right.

You may want to start off by going to a mechanic first and then after the problem is fixed check back in and we can bring some basic maintenance things up to par to prevent problems down the road.

If you chose to tackle this on your own, let me know and I will try my best to walk you through some things.
