Ford Repair: door ajar light, ford f 350, dome light

Question
My 1999 ford f-350 super duty door ajar light and dome light will not shut off,the dome light comes on by itself and shuts off by itself when the door ajar light is on and the doors are all shut completly.

most of the time this is caused by the door ajar switch in the drivers latch- you can try a quick fix of spraying a very good rust penetrant directly into latch and slamming the door a couple times to free up the switch, if not the door ajar switch will need to be replaced. good luck and please keep me posted.   -b-
