Ford Repair: ford E 250 fue problem, worst case scenarios, ford e250 van

Question
I'm trying to get my ford E250 van, 1989, with a 6 cyl engine to run.  I believe it is definitely a fuel problem, I can put gasoline in through the intake manifold and it will run, otherwise it will not. The fuel pressure is 60 lbs., and if you shut off the key the pressure holds steady at 60 lbs.  If you open the fuel line after the fuel filter large quantities of fuel flow until the key is turned off. Nothing appears to go through the injectors. is there some relay that may control the injectors? Or some other device that may control the fuel flow?

Thank you.

Answer
hey there, there is no relay for the injectors. The injectors should be PCM controled. the next step you are going to have to do is check injector pulse. There is a tool called a NOED light that is used to check this. But you can use a little light bulb. similar to the bulb used to illuminate license plates and bend the tabs over and stick it in the fuel injector connector. once this is done crank the engine and the light should flicker on and off oas you crank the engine. If there is no signal then that is your problem, then you may be looking at a possible crank or cam sensor issue, the cam or crank is what give the signal to the PCM to start fuel injector pulse. In worst case scenarios it could also be a faulty PCM so make sure your testing is done properly.
good luck
