Ford Repair: 97 Ford Contour GL, contour gl, ford contour

My contour(automatic) has been making this whining noise whenever I accelerate and would make a slight jerk as it switched gears. Now when I accelerate it just revs up but will not move forward or in reverse. It doesn't have any problem starting. Is this easily fixable?

if it is full of fluid you are probably going to need a transmission-(not cheap)before you do this have a look at your wiring harness to make sure its not all cracked up if it is get rid of the car because the wiring harness cost more than the car is worth and when you start disturbing it to make repairs the insulation is going to start coming off-
