Ford Repair: 1994 F150 4x4 4.9 litre, throttle position sensor, fuel injection system

Question
My truck has 180000 km.Regularly maintained, replaced fuel pump at 150000 km, recently replaced fuel filter. Engine idols fine, when I accelerate hard it hesitates and sputters, gradually accelerating seems ok.

Answer
A couple of things could be going on here.Is the check engine light on?If so retrieve the codes.Inspect the catalytic converters.Check the ignition timing,it may be time to service the chain.Have the throttle body and fuel injection system cleaned.Clean the throttle body with air intake and throttle body spray.Pay particular attention to where the butterfly valve seats to the throttle body for carbon deposits. You will want to inspect the butterfly valve for any signs of sticking. There is a way to test the throttle position sensor with an ohm meter. You're vehicle repair manual will have thorough instructions.
