Ford Repair: symtoms, symptoms of a blown head gasket, blown head gasket

Question
hi..would you please tell me the symptoms of a blown head gasket?  this is not a ford, but the symptoms should be the same or similar. thanks!

Answer
James-

Generally you'll notice the car running hot along with a loss of coolant.  A blown head gasket is almost always accompanied by large amounts of bright white smoke from the exhaust, expecially on acceleration.  Often you'll notice the oil turning a milky brownish-white from oil mixing with coolant.  Also, often but not always, if you remove the radiator cap, turn the car on and wait for it to warm up you'll notice bubbles in the coolant.  Hope this helps.
