Ford Repair: Rear brakes, disc brake conversion, disc conversion

Question
1977 F-250 4x4. Are there any rear brake disc conversion kits available for this truck. Why does this truck require such high pedal effort to take brakes to lock-up. Have owned 3 others of this truck, and they all brake the same high effort way. Truck is basically stock, and is serviced regularly. Brake pads, rotors, shoes and drums are in good shape. New master cyl. didn't help. Brake booster does not leak. No wild low vacuum camshaft either. What can do to lower pedal effort, to say, about the same as a aarrg Chevy.

Answer
Hi Mike,
The only way to do a disc brake conversion is to find a wrecked truck and pull the complete axle. It won't help much though because most of the braking is done in the front.
Try a different brake pad for the front, Ford is best. Also make sure that the rear brakes are adjusted up.
