Honda Repair: Tail light, honda civics, brake light switch

Question
I have an 93 honda civics. My Brake light remain on after my car is off. Can't find the main fuse, but how can I fix this problem.

Answer
Hi Ernest,

When you say brake light I'm assuming you mean the lights at the rear of the vehicle. If that is the case you may have a stuck brake light switch which is under the dash at the brake pedal assembly. You could also have some sort of short in the system which is causing them to stay on. Have you done anything electrical in the vehicle recently? Like maybe an after market stereo or alarm? Sometimes these can be the root cause of a problem like the one you are having. I would be glad to go over an electrical schematic with you if you would like and maybe we can narrow it down. I would start by unplugging the brake switch and see if that is the problem. Always start at the easiest solution. Hope this helps,
