Honda Repair: Honda Accord 1992, honda accord, visible signs

Question
Hi,  I have a 1992 Honda Accord with an unknown problem.  It broke down yesterday.  It was running but idling at 0 rpms.  When I pushed on the gas the engine reved but the rpms did not rise. It was missing out when I first started reving the engine but if you held it long enough it would become steady, but the rpms would not rise. Smoke, oderless, rose from the steering column.  Earlier that day the air conditioning vents were also putting out oderless smoke.  After we shut it off it would not start again.  The engine is turing over, but isn't starting. There were no burnt wires or any other visible signs of problems.  It has a brand new battery also.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer
Check all fluids and fuses. and have you installed a radio system at all? if so pull out and check behind it. and under the carpet on the passengers side under the glove box is the ECU. Turn ignition on and watch the red led light if it is a constant flash nothing is wrong there but if it flashes at random go to an auto electician
