Hyundai Repair: Oil Leak after replaced Timing Belt plus Radio Code-Australian Model, crank shaft, timing belt replacement

Question
I have recently had a timing belt replacement on my Hyundai Tucson 2.7 V6 All Wheel Drive. As per mechanics receipt - Remove rhf wheel, splash trays, drive belts, engine mounts and brackets, timing covers, set engine to top dead centre No.1 cylinder, remove timing belt and both camshaft and crank shaft pulleys, replace cam and crank seals, replace all idler pulleys and hydraulic tensioner.Re-assembled with new timing belt.Road tested ok. I have just driven over 1500kms return trip to stop vehicle and find smoke coming from under bonnet and severe oil leaking underneath. I did notice a slight knocking sound(did not know what it was?)Should this have happened? What could it be? Should I ask mechanic to cover fixing costs? ALSO - After removing battery(this was 12months before oil leak) can no longer get radio working? Would you have a radio code that it is asking for? Have phoned dealer bought from, dosen't have a clue as to radio code? PLEASE HELP. Aussie Girl who Has NO IDEA!!
p.s - You do a TERRIFIC JOB!! Hope you can help me?

Answer
Hi, Katrinna.  It's possible that one of the seals that was replaced wasn't installed properly.  This can create an oil leak, which in turn, if enough oil leaks out, can cause engine damage.  Of course, since I cannot inspect the vehicle myself, this is just speculation at this point, so you should contact the shop that worked on the car to have them check it.  If they're an honest shop, they'll repair anything caused by improper workmanship or repair at no charge to you.

To my knowledge, the radios in now used have a different code sequence than those used here in the Americas in the 1990s.  Therefore, I'd have little way of decoding your radio even if you were to give me further information, and my ability to check radio codes based on the serial number is limited to vehicles sold in the U.S.  The dealer in Australia should be able to access this information through Hyundai, but may need the vehicle identification number or the radio serial number.  If they cannot provide this service with this information, I'd recommend you contact Hyundai corporate in Australia directly.
