Hyundai Repair: Paint, paint warranty, horizontal surfaces

Have there been any issues with the Sonata 2000 paint on the top of the trunk, side edge and reer top pannel?  My paint appears to be wearing off in that area.  As it's off warrenty - who can I ask up the Hyundai chain to review the issue. Thanks

I've seen a few issues with paint coming off horizontal surfaces on cars manufactured around that time.  If you'd like assistance, you should call Hyundai consumer affairs at 800-633-5151.  

As the paint warranty is for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, I'd be very surprised if they offer any assistance.  While I wish you luck in your endeavor, my expectation is that their position will be that your warranty has been expired for 7 years and that your paint lasted much longer than the warranty period.
