Hyundai Repair: 2002 accent engine light, mile powertrain warranty, oxygen sensors

Question
QUESTION: 2002 accent engine light is on replaced 02 sensor 3 times in 3 weeks went back on is this under the 10 warranty or is there another 02 sensors its reading

ANSWER: Oxygen sensors are not covered under the 10year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

The primary thing I conclude here is that the problem is not the oxygen sensor.  The likelihood of getting three defective sensors (or something causing them to all fail in a short period of time) is very small.

I've seen oxygen sensor trouble codes caused by leaking exhaust pipes, defective catalytic converters, and engine control module (ECM) programming issues.

If you can give me the trouble code that was stored, that will give me enough information to point you in the correct direction.  Your vehicle does have two oxygen sensors, but the trouble code number will make it apparent which oxygen sensor's signal (or other data) the ECM doesn't think is correct.

QUESTION: I do not recall the exact code but it was 01 or 02 if that makes sense but today I disconnect the battery and filled up on gas(cross your fingers) I did have a 2001 accent before with the same problem 3 times a charm You could be right about the leek in the pipe or flex hose it does sound louder than before That was one of the problems with the 2001 i will have it put back on a scanner and see what code it reads thanks so much for your help

ANSWER: Disconnecting the battery will clear the ECM's memory.  Since nothing has been repaired, the check engine lamp will return after two successive test failures.  Depending on the issue, that may or may not occur right away.

The trouble code should be of the form Pxxxx where the x's represent numerical digits.

QUESTION: the trouble code reads po133 bank1 sensor1 engine light is on

Answer
P0133 indicates a slow response from the upstream oxygen sensor.  Most frequently, this is caused by an exhaust leak at the flex pipe.  Check for and repair any exhaust leaks, even small ones, and clear the trouble codes when done.  Very high probability (~95%) this will fix your issue.
