Hyundai Repair: 96 Hyundai Accent (2 door) center light out, phillips screws, hyundai accent

Question
I'm having trouble removing the encasement around the back center light (on
the backglass).  I have a new bulb and I want to try it.  I took all the screws out,
but nothing will budge.  There's no diagram in the Haynes Guide I have.

Answer
The Phillips screws you see hold the halves of the lamp assembly together.  But to separate it and get to the bulb, you'll need to remove the entire lamp.  Pry off the small plastic trim cover directly underneath the lamp and remove the bolts there holding the lamp in place.  With the lamp removed, you'll be able to disassemble it and replace the bulb.

I haven't looked to see if there's a diagram of the lamp there, but Hyundai's factory service information is available at www.hmaservice.com.  You'll need to register for a free account, and the site requires Internet Explorer.
