Hyundai Repair: Tiburon A/C and Airbag Questions, side airbag, stiching

2 questions:
'03 Tiburon GT A/C compressor - I am going to try and help my brother in law change the compressor on his GT. Is this possible for the advanced DIY'er or does the subframe need to be removed?

Also the passanger seat side airbag -- The side of seat stiching has come undone and the aitbag is now exposed. Can i just push the airbag back inside and tack the seam closed with some thread?

I haven't had to replace a compressor on a 2.7 liter Tiburon yet, but I think you shouldn't need to remove the subframe.  If you cannot get the compressor out once it's unbolted, you should be able to get enough clearance by removing the upper engine mount and jacking the engine.  Be sure to check whether it's easier to remove through the side opening or the bottom opening.

The seat back cover cannot be repaired safely.  If you stitch it back shut, it's possible you'll impede proper side air bag deplyment.  To repair properly, you'll need to replace the seat back cover.
