Hyundai Repair: elantra check engine, oxygen probe, efficiency problem
Questionhi!
i got the "check engine" light on with the 422 444 343 codes. the mechanics told me that they have to replace all the manifold + oxygen probe for 1500$. the car seems to run gust fine. is the price seems right for those codes?
AnswerP0422 indicates there's a catalyst efficiency problem. Depending on the year and engine of your Elantra, the manifold converter comes as an assembly with the manifold attached. $1500 sounds like it may be a little high, but not out of the believable range.
P0444 is unrelated to the converter and indicates a problem with the electrical circuit for the purge control vavle.
P0343 indicates a reading from th cam sensor that's too high. Normally, when the sensor fails, code P0340 sets, so I'd expect you may have a wiring problem here. This, too, is unrelated to the converter.
