Hyundai Repair: Brake light on Sante Fe, fluid leaks, sante fe

Question
My Brake and Parking light indicator on dashboard (i)(P) within one circle has begun illuminating. After about one mile, it goes out. It's done it each time I start the 2002 Sante Fe up about the last five -six times. It has also been COLD out the last few days.  Any suggestions??

Answer
In regard to your brake warning lamp, check your brake fluid level.  Chances are it's low, causing the switch in the master cylinder to turn on the warning lamp.  If your fluid is low, it's most likely due to low brake linings.  Check your front and rear linings.  If none are worn, check very carefully for brake fluid leaks.

I'm not familiar with a "parking light indicator."  U.S. vehicles have nothing that indicates the parking lamps are on or have a problem.  If you're in the U.S., you should check your owner's manual to find out the meaning of the indicator on your dash.  If in another country, it's possible you have a feature that's not available in the U.S.
