Hyundai Repair: 2003 accent, adobe svg viewer, crank sensor

Question
yes the check engine light was on no my buddy unplugged it before i could get the codes out of the computer. yes it cranks. I was told by hyunda there is a relay that controls all that but they wouldnt tell me were it was. yes the check engine light comes on when i turn the key on

Answer
Unfortunately, the codes that were stored in your old computer probably would have given you the most useful information as to the cause of the problem.  They'll be gone now.

Since the check engine lamp is on, that indicates that the computer is powering up and at least operating.  Have a look at your old crank sensor.  Is there any physical damage to the end that goes inside the engine?  Is there an o-ring on it?

You'll also want to check the engine control relay and it's inputs/ouputs.  At this point, I'm going to recommend that you register for a free account at www.hmaservice.com (requires Internet Explorer).  It'll allow you access to the schematics for the vehicle so you can begin tracing some things.  You'll probably need Adobe SVG Viewer (free download) to see the schematics.

I'm not familiar with the screens and prompts for the question end of the site, so it may take some work on your part to figure out how to do this, but try to do a follow-up to your previous question rather than asking a new question.  I don't necessarily have access to the information from the previous questions, and posting a follow-up includes the previous information.  This will prevent me from having to ask for you to repeat information you've already given me.
