Hyundai Repair: Code P 0340 Wont Start, 2002 Sonata 2.4L, camshaft timing, sonata 2

Sonata 2002 a/t 2.4L shut down. OBD-II code reads P 0340. Camshaft Position A Sensor. I replaced sensor and new spark plugs also. Still won't start and still codes P0340. 72,000 miles original owner. Before shut down dash error on and she idled rough for 150 miles, then shut down. Need your help. Thanks.

Most likely, your timing belt has stripped.  The rough idle and check engine lamp (P0340) probably occurred because it jumped a tooth.  Then, when it jumped again, the engine stopped running.

Start by removing the upper timing belt cover and checking the camshaft timing.
