Isuzu Repair: 1999 honda passport fuel pump, honda passport, fuel pump

Hi The fuel gage does not work and we thought we ran out of gas, added 5 gal and now the fuel pump does not cycle at all.  The fuses are good.  Any suggestions.  I am about to replace the fuel pump, but would like to avoid spending the money to do it.

Well if the fuel pump does not energize then you could have burned up the solenoid that is inside the pump. The fuel is what cools that solenoid so thats bad  to run it low on fuel. The fuel level sending unit is bad on your fuel pump thats why it is showing no gas. You can find these on EBay for very little if the pump is still good. Although  I would have the pressure checked and the fuel pump voltage and if either one is does not pass then there is your problem Jeremy.
