Isuzu Repair: Rodeo 1996 4wd 3.2 L V-6 timing belt cam alignment, alignment marks, pullies

Question
On the drivers side cam pulley there are two marks. A red dot on the inboard ridge, and a notch on the lip about 2 inches above. I am installing a new belt (old one broke), the cam 'springs' into place with the dot aligned with the 'bubble' mark on backing plate @ 3 o'clock, the notch aligned with the notch on the backing plate lip at bout 1 o'clock. This looks right, book makes no mention of two alignment marks. Is this the proper spot for cam to install belt? Thanks.!!

Answer
Well You say the belt broke, are you 100% positive that the belt and all pullies are aligned properly and in sequence? One degree off and the valves will go through the top of the pistons as this is an interferance type engine Bob. Also what is the condition of the tensioner pully and cam gears?
