Isuzu Repair: noise from engine, timing belt, 2l

I am hearing a noise from the engine on my 96 rodeo, v6, 3.2L   It is there when the car starts, idles, and during driving.  The sound disappears when it is almost up to the speed needed to shift to the next gear(automatic).  I had the timing belt replaced and it is still there.  Any ideas?
