Isuzu Repair: 1999 Isuzu Rodeo starting problems, isuzu rodeo, emery cloth

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
My wifes 99 rodeo will start fine one time and not the next.
When it does not start you will hear one click each time you turn the key,not multiple clicks like a weak battery. All gauges, lights, etc.work it just wont even turn over sometimes.Could this be starter or switch related or both? Thanks

ANSWER: Yes Donnie. More than 80% of hte time it is a bad connection on either the battery or on the starter. I would check to see if your cables are stiff and have a powder-ish substance on the battery terminals. If either is found, clean the battery posts with a baking-soda/water mix, and some emery-cloth. I would bet these battery cables are in need of replacement anyway. If this does not solve your problem let me know and we will go from there ok? thank you for your time.

QUESTION: Hello again,
I should have mentioned earlier that I have already cleaned the posts and cable ends to almost a sparkle. Having done that do you think it is in the cables or the ends that connect to the starter? By the way is there an easy way to get to the top of the starter? Thanks again for your help!!

Answer
Um no not really. You would have to remove the starter completely to access the top of the starter. The only thing I can think of is a bad engine harness ground or bad ignition switch. Also you should probably pull the starter off  and have it tested as it could be a bad starter solenoid.
