Jaguar Repair: Auto repair, fuel leaks, vent system

Question
First of all i want to thank you for taking the time to answer my question, i know for sure that some site charge for this service, and it is very kind of you to do it for free.

My question is, i just bought a Jaguar 1986 xjs, for some reason it smell like gas, and i am afraid if i drive it like that it will make me sick, what might be the problem.  I am planning to do a tune up but i am not really sure what to get.

the car have 75000 mile, i want to add some type of security system in it, and also a nice stereo system what do you suggest.

thank you for your service, May your God bless you

Answer
Hi Sanford,
First thing you need is a service manual. Then look very closely for any fuel leaks then check the tank vent system.
As for adding a security system you should let a shop do that, usually a shop that installs stereo systems can do a professional job.
As for a tune up you need to refer to the service manual you just bought (if you did what I suggested)
