Jaguar Repair: 1985 xj6 evaporator coil, ac evaporator coil, detail instruction

Question
QUESTION: I would like to know how to remove the ac evaporator coil
from a 1985 xj6.

ANSWER: Hi Isaac,
BLM in their infinite wisdom made it so you would have to remove the whole dash and heater / AC box to get to it.

But all you need to do is take a cut saw and cut the pipe off that prevents you from removing it from the drivers side and do the same to the new one and just install hose with clamps.

QUESTION: I have removed the radio and i do not see the evaporator could you give me a more detail instruction as to what i need to do to take the ac evaporator out. thanks so much

Answer
Isaac, I already told you that you have to remove the WHOLE dash, steering wheel and all. This is NOT a job for a "Do it Yourself" mechanic. If you are determined to try it, you should get a service manual from the Jag dealer as the job is not an easy job.
