Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman chainsaw, craftsman chainsaw, fuel mix

Question
hi John

thank you very much for your advice earlier today!  I could not locate the in tank fuel filter.  But, I drained the gas in the unit back into the gallon container where I mix it.  since only 1/4 gallon was left, this went into my 7/8 full minivan tank to burn away.

Then, mixed a new gallon of fuel.  Ran the saw to burn up any "old" gas in it.  filled the tank with new fuel.  It took a few minutes of running before it took affect.

but, it worked great!  my tree limbs are now stacked.

I did not have to clean the carb.

Thank you for offering your time on this site to help out those who lack experience!

Answer
Hi Andy:

>>Thanks for Using All Experts.
>>I am Glad that Simply Dumping and Changing to a Fresh Fuel Mix Corrected your Problem.
>>I Suggest you Dump the Fuel Mix Anytime the Saw has Been Setting for a Week and there is No Immediate Sign that it will be Used in the Near Future.
>>Then Start and Run the Saw Until it Quits.
>>Place the Choke On and Continue to Try and Start the Saw Several More Times to Clear as Much of the Fuel Mix as Possible from the Carburetor.
>>Once this is Done, the Saw can Usually be Refilled with Fuel Mix and Started with Little to No Problem the Next Time it is Required to Clear Limbs, Trees, ect.
>>Thanks Again for Using All Experts. Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems be SMALL ONES and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy.

Best Wishes and Good Luck

Respectfully

John
