Jaguar Repair: 85 XJ6 w/ chevy 350 AC problem, climate control system, sensor ideas

Question
Car has a chevy 350 and GM AC unit.  AC unit works when we apply power to the unit however, using the controls in the car, it wont go on.  It worked last summer.  I suspect a fuse, wiring, or temperature sensor.  Ideas?

Answer
Hi Matt,
Unit?? What unit? do you mean the compressor clutch? If that is what you are talking about, there are a few minor things you can check. If you have the original Harrison compressor, it has a thermo breaker to cut off the compressor clutch if over heated so just check the wire before the temp breaker as the wire comes around the front of the engine (if it is still routed that way)
Also you should try jumping the "High side Low pressure switch" if still included and check the #16 fuse in the Aux fuse panel (right side) and the #6 fuse in the main panel (left side)
Other than that, the Jaguar climate control system is complex and you would need a manual to run all of the diagnosis necessary to make repairs.
