Jaguar Repair: parts availability, jaguar dealer, auto machine

Mr. Fitzcharles, I own a 1989 XJ-6 and am in needs of certain parts.  Where can I purchase reliable replacement parts for this car?

Hi Curt,
The Jaguar dealer is the best place. However, there are many aftermarket parts dealers in the country that sell good parts and a few of the aftermarket parts are better than the original (OEM). Most of the aftermarket parts are usable and usually much cheaper. That is why most people go to aftermarket parts.
It is very difficult to know which parts are good and which parts are bad in the aftermarket unless you were in the business and replacing these parts daily.
look an the net at places like Terry's Jag or Welch Jag or Ingles jag. If you can't find these on the net let me know and I will get you their addresses.
Some parts can only be had from Jaguar. Most of the internal engine parts can be had from your local auto machine shops. These are usually good parts as the machine shop learns quickly which parts not to buy.
