Jeep Repair: Extended Cranking, fuel pressure gauge, jeep wrangler

Question
I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler, in-line 6 Cyl. 5sp. standard Trans. the vehicle cranks for approx 5-7 seconds when its cold. Sometimes I have to try several times before it starts. Once the vehicle starts, It runs great. No check engine light. no misses, no hesitation. only cold starting. It was recently tune-up including cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, BG products, Etc. Any ideas?

Answer
Sounds like a fuel problem.  Most likely, in my experience the fuel pump leaks back into the fuel tank, or bleeds down.  When you start it, the fuel pump has to reprime the system.  Try cutting it off and restarting it about 20 seconds later, if it starts up quickly, then you are loosing fuel pressure.  It could also be the fuel injectors leaking down.  They will leak fuel into your intake, which will flood the motor slightly.  You need a fuel pressure gauge to confirm the problem, hope I could help you!
