Jeep Repair: fuel filter, jeep cherokee, fuel filter

i have a 1999 jeep cherokee i went to service it the other day went looking for a fuel filter could not find it .guy at parts store said that i did not have one . could you tell me why?

Answer
For once the guys at the parts store are right.  The fuel filter on your jeep is located on the bottom side of the fuel pump, inside the tank.  It's not designed to be serviced unless you're dropping the tank.

Are you trying to address a particular problem or just preventative maintenance?
