Jeep Repair: Engine timing, timing gears, camshaft

Question
I have a 1988 wrangler with a 258ci. The timing gear stripped and I removed the old gears and replaced with two new ones as well as a new chain. I put everything back together and made sure I was at top dead center. All went well but it won't start. When I checked compression I have only 60 LBS. on all cylinders. So what would you say to do next?

Answer
Sounds to me like a broken camshaft.  A new set of timing gears and chain should have little to do with the compression of any cylinder unless a valve is being held open a little and the only way that can happen is if the camshaft is not moving to close them.
