Land Rover Repair: Anti-locking cutoff switrch 2000 Land Rover D2, door latch, engine fuel

Question
I can't lock my Rover remotely. The locks immediatly open again and even maually they open later in the day automatically.  I assume it is the impact switch under the hood but have done everything to reset it. I still have engine, fuel and still can't lock it remotely.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Usually this problem is caused by a failed latch in one of the doors.  The place to start is the driver door latch.  The way you diagnose it would be to disconnect each latch (one at a time) and lock the car.  When you disconnect the latch that's causing the trouble the car will stay locked.
