Land Rover Repair: transmission problems, range rover hse, 2004 range rover hse

Question
hi, i have 2004  Range rover HSE mode, transmission  revs up to 3500 or 4000 rpm before shifting up 2 to 3, also sometimes not shifting. The question is it is fixable? or  I have to buy an other transmission? If it's fixable, could you tell me how to do it?

Answer
The transmission in a 2004 Range Rover is electronically controlled.  A failure to shift could be a result of a mechanical failure inside, or an electronic control problem.  Your first step should be to find someone with a T4 or IDS system that can read the live data from the transmission control and see why it's shifting late.  That should tell if you have mechanical or electrical problems
