Land Rover Repair: 2000 LR Disco II Cruise Control, vacuum hoses, john cruise

Question
John,
Cruise hasn't worked for several years. Noticed today there's no cable entering the pneumatic actuator (the rubbery baffle in the vacuum pump cluster#, looks as though it's slipped up into the rubber cable cover...???  That's not normal, right?

Already replaced the break switch and all related vacuum hoses with no luck. I also notice in one of your responses you recommend checking fuse 16. I'll have to locate that / check it.

Appreciate any insight you can provide - been all over the problem with no luck #short of taking it to the dealership - can't afford to replace all related parts!).
Thank you,
Larry

Answer
Hi Larry,

Fuse 16 is located in the engine compartment - 10 amp, first in the column near outer edge)
Fuse 30 is located in passenger fusebox - 20 amp (Cruise control switch)

Best way to determine CC trouble is with a testbook - it can read the CC fault codes.  Perhaps you could consider going to an independent LR repair shop.  It would save you money and time in solving this problem.  The fault could be with a number of components (CC ECU, actuator, vacuum, BCU, ...) all very pricing to just 'swap n see' if it fixes CC problem.

Send me an email and I'll send you what I have on the CC to help you in your repair.  Tell me where you'd like it repaired and I'll see if I can find an independent shop for you.

Best of luck,
