Land Rover Repair: 2003range rover she, fuel pressure gauge, engine management computer

Question
We thought vehicle ran out of gas so filled tank and took off for about 50 feet. Car stalled and would not start again. Within 20 minutes it started again and went about two miles, stalled and would not start again. Next morning started again and went 400 feet. Tried again next day and vehicle will not start? Fuel pump or something else?

Answer
You need to start with the basics.  Does it have fuel, and does it have spark?  On a truck of that vintage you can't just pull a spark plug wire or pop on a fuel pressure gauge easily.  At Robison Service we would connect the Land Rover test system and look at these things:

1 - Does the engine management computer have any faults that would keep it form starting
2 - Does the security computer show cranking and running is enabled, or is there a security lockout?

If those checks did not give an answer we would go to live data and crank the vehicle
1 - Does is show a valid RPM signal?
2 - Does it show mass air flow?

If those tests did not lead to an answer we would connect a fuel pressure gauge

That sort of path should lead to a solution.
