i have discovered oil in my expansion tank she burst a top hose weeks ago and recently a bottom hose  both were replaced immediately could my head gasket be the problem and be done by myself

Some Land Rover models route the engine oil cooler pipes through the radiator.  Check that to see if you have a failure there.  If not, I'm afraid you've got a major engine problem on your hands.  I don't see many TD5 motors in the US, so I suggest asking the head gasket question on one of the UK Rover forums.
