Land Rover Repair: Land Rover 2.5 Front Cylinder engine miss, crankshaft position sensor, cylinder engine

Question
Hi,

My dad is a retired mechanic and trying to repair my sister's 2001 Land Rover 2.5 Freelander. The car does not want to accelarate. When he looked under the hood the front 3 cylinders miss. Any idea how he can repair it?

Thank you so much for your help.

Crystal

Answer
Hi Crystal,

he should have a workshop manual to help with these repairs.  Send me an email and I'll tell you how to get one.

As for the cause of this, it could be one of many possible causes - it could be as simple as wires or plugs, or the crankshaft position sensor.  There are other possibilities as well...

Best of luck,
