Land Rover Repair: short cicuit, short cicuit, land rover freelander

i was about to purchase a 2003 land rover freelander until i
found out it was having problems, the owner says it has a
short circuit probably due to moisture. is this an expensive
thing to get fixed?

The short answer is yes.  In my experience with sellers of used cars, if there was an easy answer, they would have gotten it and sold the car for more.  If they say "its easy" but they have not done it, plan on a few thousand dollars.  It's best to be very cynical about used cars that need work.
