Land Rover Repair: discovery air bag question, air leaks, rovers north

Question
i have a 2000 discovery and one day my battery died n the hole truck dropped after that the driver side rear side is always leaning and its getting worse day by day i would like to know if i need a new air bag or what's going on a mechanic side there are cracks in it and thats why the air leaks i would just like your opinion

Answer
The mechanic is right - you have some kind of air leak and if the bag has cracks, it's probably bad.  You should consider converting the vehicle from air springs to coil springs.  The air suspension is going to be increasingly costly to maintain, whereas the coil conversion is a one-time thing.  You can buy a coil kit from Atlantic British or Rovers North (in the USA) for less than the cost of two rear air bags, and it can be fitted with ordinary hand tools.
