Land Rover Repair: Rang Rover County, negative cable, obdii

Just wondering where the Plug in for a 1990 Rang Rover County is for the ecu we have a check engine light on and cannot find the way to check it.. Is there an OBD1-2 plug somwhere?... we checked under passenger seat and all we can find is a small box that says Onboard Diagnostic system but there is no code display or plug in on it?? thanks for helping

Hi Jeff,

that's kind of early stage OBD and I think you have just a code box found under the passenger seat.  Much like my '95 Disco, the diagnostics were limited to an output code on that small box and the only connectors I'm aware of are hidden behind the dash and very specific to the dealer testing equipment (Testbook).  

I would reset my code by disconnecting the negative cable on the battery for a few seconds.

BTW:  OBDII is on '96 and newer models.
