Land Rover Repair: 1998 discovery problem, crank sensor, sticky valves

Question
Why does my Discovery slow down while driving?  It would not go over 20-30 mph even if the gas pedal is down to the floor.  Only the RPM increases when I apply gas. After a while it bucks %26 starts driving normal.  Can you tell me if it is the transmission? It was in the shop last year for months trying to correct the problem.  I have had the fuel filter replace after the fuel pump failed. So, here is all that have been replaced: fuel pump %26 tank, fuel filter,PS, ECU,%26 in the process of replacing the crank sensor...please help!

Answer
There's an article on sticky valves on my main website that may explain your problem.  Go to www.robisonservice.com > service > land rover > advice and you'll find it.  There are many possibilities but this is one you may not have thought of, that's common on Rovers of that vintage

Good luck
